Ring Joint Type (RTJ) Revata Engineering gaskets are precision machined, metal sealing rings suitable for high temperatures and high pressure applications.
The Ring Joint Gasket is designed to close with an "initial contact line" or wedging action between the mating flange and the gasket. By applying pressure to the interface seal through the power of bolts, the soft metal of the gasket flows into the micro-fine structure of the harder flange material, creating a very tight and efficient seal.
Revata Ring Joint Gaskets are manufactured according to the API-6A and ASME B16.20 specifications and come in four basic types:
R (Oval Type) Ring Joint Gasket
R (Octagonal Type) Ring Joint Gasket
RX Style Ring Joint Gasket
BX Style Ring Joint Gasket
This basic form of Ring Joint Gaskets is used in various applications with pressures up to 20,000 PSI. The dimensions are standard and require special grooved flanges by which the corresponding "R" or "BX" numbers are assigned to the pipe size and pressure class to identify the gasket.
